The 15% Principle

Empowering students and staff sounds great.
But, what do we do when we feel disempowered?
There are so many constraints in some schools that seem to close all options but the ones prescribed from up high.
So, empowerment sounds great, but, how?

Most of us have at least 15% autonomy in what and how we run our classroom or school.
Yes, 85% might be out there.
15% is right in front of you. Use that to empower yourself, your staff, and your students.
Once the seed of empowerment is nurtured, it grows. 15% grows into 20% and that into 40%.

Where is your 15%? How do you start leveraging it for the change you want to see?
